Between 30 minutes of music, with a declaration stating on one's honour that the recording has been carried out by oneself and without assembly

SEMI-FINAL

Wednesday 22 August 2018 – maximum 8 candidates

Saint-Maurice, Church Saint-Sigismond

  • Johann Sebastian Bach: One Sonata in Trio Form chosen by the competitor himself among the following works: BWV 525, 526, 527, 528, 529, 530

  • Felix Mendelssohn: Sonata op. 65, 1, 4 or 6, at the candidate's choice.

The organ will be at each competitor’s disposal for at least two hours: two periods of one hour over two days.

 

FINAL

Friday 24 August 2018 – 3 candidats

Saint-Maurice, Basilica (Abbey Church)

  • Johann Sebastian Bach: One Prelude and Fugue chosen by the competitor himself
    among the following works: BWV 542, 548, 552, 564

  • Maurice Duruflé: Suite op. 5

The organ will be at each competitor’s disposal for at least four hours divided into two periods covering two days


 

PRIZES

  • One first prize: CHF 10,000, prize of the State of Valais, awarded by the council for culture
    of the «Canton du Valais».

  • One second prize: CHF 6,000, awarded by the town of Saint-Maurice.

  • One third prize: CHF 4,000, awarded by the Foundation Seymour-Obermer.
