PRESELECTION

2-14, 9-20, 16-27 July 2018  –  20 candidate

Lausanne, Saint-François Church

  • Maurice Duruflé: Sicilienne de la Suite op. 5

  • Then a free programme (chosen by the candidate).  Duration of the preselection: 30 minutes altogether

For the preparations, the organ will be at each candidate’s disposal for three hours on the evening preceding his/her performance.
An assistant may be requested to turn over the pages, but as the organ possesses numerous electric combinations, each candidate will have to change stops him/herself.

This preselection is open to the public and will be performed without the presence of the jury.
It will be recorded and the records listened to by the jury at the beginning of August. The results will be communicated to the candidates on August 6th.

 

SEMI-FINAL

Wednesday 22nd August 2018 – maximum 8 candidates

Saint-Maurice, Saint-Sigismond Church

  • Johann Sebastian Bach: OneSonata in Trio chosen by the competitor him/herself among the following works: BWV 525, 526, 527, 528, 529, 530

  • Felix Mendelssohn: one Sonata op. 65, chosen among Nr 1, 4 or 6 

For the preparations, the organ will be at each competitor’s disposal for two hours: two periods of one hour over two days. As the organ possesses electronic combinations, the candidate will then play without assistance – to turn over pages: on special request.

 

FINAL

Friday 24th August 2018 – 3 candidats

Saint-Maurice, Basilica (Abbey Church)

  • Johann Sebastian Bach: One Prelude and Fugue, 
    among the following works: BWV 542, 548, 552, 564

  • Maurice Duruflé: Suite op. 5 (Prélude, Sicilienne, Toccata)

The organ will be at each competitor’s disposal for three hours divided into two periods over two days. As the organ possesses electronic combinations, the candidate will then play without assistance – to turn over pages: on special request
